    All I know is it had problems and would shut down semi-regularly, and the last time it happened, the team decided to move. I'm just a dude, so I'm not privy to any of the reasoning or technical stuff.

    The older Bleachbooru ran on Moebooru, which was abandonware for a while. A massive tech issue arising was going to inevitably happen, and when it did we all decided to move to something that has more regular support and updates (and also brought with it more features).
    Some things are still under construction, such as site theming and attempting to bring back profile pictures.
