Japanese are actually probably the least racist of the asian countries that still allow segregation, primarily due to influence of western values. Even anime protags tends to be against the racism. IMO japan is probably the perfect balance between racism and xenophobia. they see different groups without a woke lens and prefer their own, but still consider them equal in rights and morality. Ever other group is to xenophilia, like the west, or just bigotly racist, IE were better than you because we are X and you are the other race. I suppose you would call that emotional racism, as opposed to scientific racism, which is the good kind.

Let's just say, for example, I get citizenship in Japan. They don't take me for one of their own, because I'm of a different race and a "gaiji". Anyway, it sounds somehow racist... Therefore, I still consider them racist. Even if I, for example, have a Japanese wife, they will still consider me a stranger by look.. It's terrible 🫤

I dont think you can get citizenship as a foreigner. But no, you would be a foreigner, like i said japan is racist but it's far less racist than china or many other asian nations.
