Bleached in a Soulslike?

Posted under General

How would you guys go about adding Bleached elements into a Soulslike that are subtle enough to only be understood by those in the knows, but also prominent enough to play an active role? Like, maybe a covenant or a group of items maybe, or maybe even an NPC, any ideas? I'd love to hear what my White Kings imagine.

I don’t get the question lol. Do you mean like making a new game that’s a souls-like and then adding obscure bleached elements in that game or retroactively any other actual souls-like games that are out now?
Either way I’d use environmental storytelling to show how a once great civilisation was overtaken by a rival civilisation (the white coded civilisation) through use of item descriptions and again, just the environment itself. Maybe a covenant that’s basically a pledge from the older (non-white) Civ that hunts other players down in service to the God of the (white coded) Civ. The NPC that gives you this Covenant would also be subtly bleached, a non-white female that’s devoted to this specific Covenant.

Yes, I am working on such a project currently. Thanks for telling me what you think, I appreciate it! Also yes, those ideas almost all sound kinda fgood. As expected from a white man.~ Do xou...take headpats?

Not white, but I imagine an easy way would to be have a good-aligned faction that uses White in their name but like a more fantasy color name. "Ivory Knights", "Pale Guardians", "Pearl Sentinels" etc.

Going off of what AryanSuperSoldier said, it could be that all of the high end, really good gear is all made or related to the white coded civilization. Blades that never loose their edge, armor that shatters steel, magic and technology beyond what could be normally made locally. Going off of environmental story telling, have them "civilize" the place. Have great statues and monuments of a different style that is imposing and grand compared to whatever other environment. Tell how they tamed the land, basically use a lot of the colonialist myths and European imperialist ideas but play them unapologetically straight.

The Invading Phantom belongs to the Bleached covenant from another Lordran/Drangleic/Ashina/Boletaria/Dream, and proceeds to take vital NPCs in front of our hero. The Maiden in Black bleached while the Penetrator penetrates our Slayer of Demons. On the next respawn she is now the Maiden in White.
The Doll being repurposed as a fleshlight by a white vileblood who manages to invade the very Hunter's dream.
The Emerald Herald is selected for her red hair and emerald eyes to bear pale children with the Red White Phantom while the BotC watches.
The Fire Keeper, and Yuria of Londor find a way to patch things unlocking a secret ending, where the Ashen One is rewarded with a threesome for everything, only for the White Phantom he had befriended to stab him in the back, revealed to be a Mad (White) Phantom
As Wolf runs around trying to do Kuro's bidding, Kuro and Emma submit... to ROBERTOOOOOOOOOOOOO
