Bleachbooru

Explanation for deleted posts and deleted posts getting liked.

Posted under General

Now, im not here to complain like an asshole or cause discourse, just wanted to ask a few things and get opinions. Firsts thing first, im a casual editor, nothing fancy but i do have a history of bleaching more niche fandoms like hazbin, helluva or mainly homestuck (im kinda the one keeping the homestuck tag alive lmao.)

Now for example, one of my posts (post #91480) was deleted for not being liked by 1 mod, i will say its a hand-drawn edit instead of a traditional drag-warp-burn edit but you can judge by yourself, thing is; i wouldn't complain if the mod left a tiny note saying 'post not liked because x, y or z' and to add salt to the wound the post is still being favorited by people despite being deleted?

Another example, (post #91413 and it's parent), these were both deleted on account of them being low quality when its just a simple skin change with no visible jpeg artifacts or low original image quality. Again, a reason for the post getting deleted for being low quality would be nice and could help me (or anyone really) improve their skills in editing.

I remember when i started and mods left small notes telling you what you did wrong and what you could improve on and those where really helpful!

Also, is the favoriting of a deleted post normal? If it was low quality as the mods say, why do people like it?

Im sure there's similar cases going around but i just wanted to ask all this, since there isn't really and "upload feedback" post, i really like editing since its fun and all but maybe nudging the editors in the right way could get them to improve.

both were low quality and some people just spam likes for whatever reason

What's exactly low quality about them? I wont be making more of these since it seems that its not liked (its been a while since i last edited and i wanted to experiment) but any advice is welcome. If you dont mind.

What determines “low quality” is whatever the mods feel like at any given time. It’s a catch all reason for rejecting anything basically. Why would I say this? Because they certainly won’t explain themselves or what low quality means by any actual defined metric or standard so I’m (and many others who do stuff that doesn’t involve skin and tattoo edits or 3D modeling of bleached posts) left to guess.

Not liked = Skip on our side. That's just how the coding is. Skipping something queue means a mod just did not care about it for any reason under the sun. There is no way to input a reason why we skipped, we just skip. An item sitting in queue is basically unlisted from the booru. Contributors (purple names) can see them though and so can anyone with a direct link. Hence why it has favorites on it.

Or that, basically laziness/disinterest or being very charitable, just an off day for all the mods. It’s the luck of the draw whether or not your post get reviewed, and then approved. This doesn’t explain the marvellous and totally not nebulous reason of “low quality” though.

Whenever a post is uploaded mods are told to compare it to other works that have been recently. So for an edit, my area of expertise, I'll compare it to the edits I've seen around on the booru. I look at objective things that every editor needs to understand. Warping, blending, tat placement, and the art they chose. If the tats are aliased, badly warped, or even blended I, along with many others on the mod team, consider that low quality.

The art you choose to edit also plays a big factor in your chances. The booru doesn't need to be filled with MSpaint tier drawings, even if the editor did a good job. Now obviously as the curve narrows there is some personal bias that comes into play. A mod may simply just not like the piece or feel it toes the line too much. In a situation like that they either tend to skip it or share it within mod chat to let someone else look over it. When something less personalized comes through the queue, reuploading an artist's work for instance, we have to go by what the original piece is.

I'll use you as an example. Looking at your non approved uploads you have 6 different videos of Super Deep Throat gameplay. There is nothing unique about it, no storyline associated with it, or Bleached focused additions. It's just unmodified SDT gameplay. So it was considered low effort which easily falls under poor quality. The next two items were of a standard doggy style sex scene. Though it was skipped over by everyone probably because the guy in the gif had a poorly drawn dick. Finally you had a generic AI piece. To be honest I would consider that to fall under our "Plain AI" rule which depending on your interpretation doesn't allow unmodified AI pieces. Though, I do know some mods view it more as a "no badly done AI" rule.

Going by OPs work. The first one was just a tragic case of the only mod getting a chance to see it in 3 days skipped it. Second piece though the art itself was just not very good. I understand Homestuck is supposed to be reliant on it's absurdist art style but there are much better pieces. As evident by what they have uploaded.

Though let's be fair and look at the last two deleted entries (that just isn't people trolling). First we have (post #91649) this piece which was deleted because it's a sample image. The mod team prefers the original because then it's not a compressed version of what already exists. Second one is (post #91585). We have a anime girl, yes in a SS outfit, staring ahead and nothing else. This violates our plain pinup rule.

Highlighting the last paragraph since it pertains to me more. I am okay with most of these reasonings, in fact I agree with everything barring the Super Deep Throat stuff entirely. So I’m not even gonna talk about poor skin edits, ai slop, or whatever I’m just going to talk about SDT. First of all, all of the short posts ARE modified, and more modified than one might expect upon first glance, I can go over all of the mods I suspect were used in the more recent posts, but it would be too long for the kind of reply I want to give here, but let’s just say that changing hair (that isn’t innate to the standard sdt), changing backgrounds (again that isn’t innate to sdt), changing clothes (I’m repeating myself), to say the least, but that’s not getting into the various body mods that I have implemented, or any of the QoL/settings mods just for setting up other mods to work. Also there is a ‘story’ (as in there is progression), I literally named them in parts because I can’t post any kind of vid that exceeds around a minute in webm format. It’s kind of hard to come up with a ‘bleached’ intricate story about giving a blowjob in a bathroom or whatever in under a minute. The only thing that I can now think is getting in the way is the fact that the girl in question is white, and as we all know white girls can’t be ‘bleached’ unless they have tattoos or some other kind of very obvious other thing that makes it okay for bleached like being a nazi or some nationplay specific thing or fashion or whatever, which would then and only then make it okay for bleachbooru mods. I’m serious though, if the girl was Asian, or Black, or Arab or anything other than white I actually fed that under these new defined terms (thanks for the transparency!) that it would be okay.

Thanks for taking the time, this is what i wanted as a reason. Now i know that more clasic edits are acceptrd instead of more artsy/hand-drawn ones (i can keep those for myself lmao)

I completly understand the art style not being the standard cup of tea, which fucks me over a bit since good hs porn to bleach is scarce but i can take some time with it.

In that case I would use the artist commentary for just more than saying what part it was. List out the mods you used. Include a short summary (even if you just copy paste it for every single part). I understand that the idea of what is/isn't Bleached is a very loose term. Fact of life for a fetish that has grown over the years but never really found it's footing outside of being a giant umbrella term for white appreciation. Though if you show how this can be Bleached and how this differs from someone just downloading SDT then hitting record. It can help showcase why your submission is a unique Bleached piece.

i think it's a shame that pure art style bias is such a big factor in posts getting to stay. i like that artist's work quite a lot, and find more generic anime or realistic entries to be kind of boring - definitely a dime a dozen - so knowing that a part of that chalks up to people just not liking the style is incredibly frustrating, honestly

yeahh, it'll exist forever in my hard-drive but sadly wont be able to share.

it is a valid point tho, it's quite niche
