What exactly makes art fall under the category of "Poor Quality"?

Posted under General

I've like, uploaded 3 variations of my art, 2 approvers saying it's poor quality and whatnot, I dunno what exactly makes art fall under the category of poor quality, I did have it in 4k, of course, I had it in rather. good quality, I believe?
Just out of curiosity so I can see how to improve my art. <3

I think your art is cool. Not my thing personally, but you have a style that's higher quality than some of the slop that gets approved/uploaded on here. Don't get discouraged, keep honing and practicing your skills. Getting through the queue isn't a consistent process, and it's good that you're requesting clarity. Hopefully a mod could provide further insight.

Hey random question, how do you see posts that haven't been aproved yet, or do only mods have that ability?

Thank you vey much! The thing is it's happened on rule34, I'm not sure if it's because my art's not in 4k (I've uploaded 4k versions of it many times, I dunno what the quality issue is!! But you did help me out, quite alot actually! Thank you for that, and thanks for the compliment, perhaps I should draw more stuff that gives everyone a nice cup of tea!

My respect for actual artists is endless. Don't change your style to pander to a common denominator, develop your own. Ask for feedback, of course, but don't throw everything you know out of the window because it might cast a broader net. Just don't get discouraged, look back on what you've already achieved and learned once in a while, so it's not just the rest of the mountain yet to climb that's all you ever see.

Whatever mod ticked poor quality will have to weigh in because I'm not sure myself. My only nitpick is the lighting of your piece is very dark. I appreciate the mood lighting vibe and it works but I still think you could have made the image brighter slightly without losing the idea of the original.

Generally speaking though poor quality is a subjective metric but usually it's reserved for art that is inconsistent in design or an edit that appears low effort.
