It's just playing into the whole "brown is brown" stereotype and intentionally handwaving everyone with dark skin as "a nigger," emphasizing the idea that they are all inferior by implying that their skin colour is what defines them and their individual cultures and nationalities are unimportant.

At least, that was the intention. It doesn't always translate well. ^^

I thought Kamala Khan was Arabic or middle-eastern, not south Asian? Because she’s brown and Muslim..? Am I missing something here?

Thats why she sometimes looks a tad paler than a Indian or other South Asians. And thats also why her family are all Muslims justl ike her.

Btw there are tons of Muslims in India too
