Was born in 2003 and I'm British, honestly wasn't too bad, I think the only obligatory " white guilt " or " pro SJW " narratives you could say is that
1 -Slavery was taught how you'd expect it was an international attrocity that exploited improvished africans but they conviently leave out who captured and sold the slaves to the Dutch & Portugese ( The Kongo Kings ) which obviously potrays a certain narrative
2 - every so often ( 1 or 2 times per year ) we'd have some gay & trans people come in to talk about their experiences then fuck off after an hour, as a majority muslim school ( Britian is a hell hole ) This did not go over well and the students would just make jokes before and after the class.
But that was basically the extent of " DEI " for us, it was nowhere near as bad as the news makes its out to be.
I wonder if it really depends on where you went to school, like california or new york, vs a less liberal place. As for europe i honestly have no context since i was thinking of more an american perspective and britian was like 99% white untill after ww2 anyway.
As for slavery, brits never had it, and were the ones that ended it, so how exactly did they teach slavery? Was it like just teaching about slavery in the americas or something, also wouldnt that portray brits as the "good guys" because you would be taught "these americans who owned slaves rebelled from the british" or did they find some way to blame white brits, too?
That gay/trans thing is wierd tho. I never dealt with that, we had ppl come in and give a speech about themselves but it was like drug users and criminals as like a PSA "dont do drugs kids!"
