Personally I don't view futa as trans because it's as you said, it involves becoming the other gender than originally born. Most futa porn usually either involves them being hermaphrodites at birth or very suddenly having a dick, which isn't how the trans experience works.
Some trans people will argue that it's because "ok but sexually it's the same!" when in reality it couldn't be more different since the underlying context is deeper than "girl cums sperm".
But for the sake of people's goon sessions it's easier to put lump them under the same tag, otherwise some anti-trans snowflake is going to have a hissy fit, change the tag, and laugh at people due fo their own ignorance and hatred.
