The Moderators Need to Change.

Posted under General

Moderation has been extremely excessive ever since the decision to "crack down" on the site and the mods are still disapproving posts for ridiculous reasons and standards, all in all the site is becoming incredibly unappealing to post content of any kind to, be it comments or images.

Please, whoever's in charge, have a mod purge. I understand that finding mods who are both capable and willing to work for a site such as this might be a bit challenging due to the nature of the content, but it's painfully obvious that at least a number of prominent current mods are laughably biased, inept, judgmental or overly aggressive with their power.

No one likes this "style" of moderation, the amount of people reacting negatively to it should have proven such already.

Please, have a mod purge, or at the very least make them do their jobs better, because the way they're running things now is pretty awful.

yeah i understand that, not all of us can agree on one thing, so it's just very inconisistent with what gets approved, honestly it's kind of messy to do with, i just leave the ones i can't figure out to others, i don't really disapprove stuff because i don't like it, but just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it has to be deleted, idk (i'm trying my best)

What ever happened to the mod setup before the booru change. Did they leave and get bored?

Mods who don't approve or disapprove a post at all because they don't think they can are totally fine, the issue is the mods who actively disapprove of pics by the droves for ridiculous reasons, like it's a furry pic and they don't like furries for instance, or the always classic bullshit that is "disinterest" lol.

Like, my dude, no one's here because of what *you're* interested in, why do you think your personal like or interest in an upload is relevant in the slightest for approval?
You don't like the pic, fine, but if the quality's up to snuff just let it through lol.

'Disinterest' means the mod in question has skipped over that entry in the queue. If 3-4 mods all hit skip then your post wasn't that good to begin with. As well not everything gets seen by everyone. The queue only keeps something active for three days before auto deletion. When the queue regularly gets to 10-15 entries, then an older post can just slip by

I caught a month long ban from a mod who just didn't like what I was commenting. Nothing rule breaking, not anything asking for RPs, just regular comments.

You got banned for RPing in the comments

You’re one of the great ones.

That doesn't make any sense, that's the problem. "Disinterest" doesn't measure something's quality, it only measures how interested those particular 1-2 mods are in the work yet it's somehow grounds for not allowing the work on the site at all, that's nonsense. As should be completely obvious by now, the tastes and interests of the moderators are NOT representative of the tastes and interests of the users and can CATEGORICALLY not be used as a metric for it, especially seeing as there are several moderators with demonstrable stances against certain types of content that they simply will not approve regardless of quality or what the users are fine with.

The approval process should ONLY gatekeep things that break the rules or are of notably low quality, nothing else, yet the process on the site has no stops what so ever to ensure the mods keep to that standard and as a result the moderators are blatantly tending to only allow things they personally enjoy regardless of eligibility.

I can tell you from first hand experience that nothing kills the motivation to contribute to the site more than having worked for 4-6 hours on an edit only to get it rejected because some moderators were apparently just vaguely disinterested in it.

What do YOU consider low quality then? Because what you're describing is the exact same system we already have but with the floodgates open even more than they already are

Maybe he just wants the system before the newest booru? Idk

This has happened to me once or twice, really kills my vibes tbh cuz you see some edits with barely warped or with no transparency at all get approved.

Might just be me tho

The fuck you mean skipping posts? Who the fuck cares if a mod isn't "INTERESTED" in a post?
Mods have the job of apporving and disapproving posts if they break any rules or are shitass quality. Nobody is interested in everything, that's why it's retarded to have the ability to decide what's "INTERESTING" or not.
Let the community decide. If it likes the post, it will be upvoted. If not, not.
