Anyone else here into TTRPG's?

Posted under General

Pretty much just what the title asks!

I’m curious if anyone else here enjoyed playing TTRPGs, and if so what kind they enjoy/what characters they’ve made! Also kinda curious if anyone, like me, likes to add some vague or maybe less than discreet Bleached/generally lewd themes to their characters/worlds just for a bit of fun ;P

I’m excited to hear about y’alls characters/campaigns!

(And feel free to DM me if you wanna chat about it in private!)

Once played an online dnd with friends and my character was lewd female bard, her personality was quirky and bratty, BUT doesnt kill any white men, she always knocks them out, but others? Like black people, monsters, other fantasy races and etc.? She kills them with cold blood.

Haha, that sounds like a fun character quirk to play around with. Wonder if I’d catch onto that detail if I had been your DM, I might have encouraged it a tad if I did, add some in game stuff or perhaps some secret items to further it… ;P

Im more of a board game kinda girl

Board games are super fun too but I usually struggle with getting together people for board game night compared to ttrpg dnd night.

I also like ttrpgs. But when it comes to fetish stuff I usually sprinkle some hot lady knights and call it a day honestly. Or maybe put an exotic foreign advisor/swordswoman and have it implied they are banging the king of the white kingdom if I am feeling spicy. If I did more id expose myself way too much!

I'd be more interested in TTRPGS (especially d20 style ones) if they didnt take forever, my attention span makes it hard for me to keep engaged for a multi week campaign, not enough DMs like doing oneshots.

Yeah I know a lot of people struggle with the same problem. I like doing one shots because they allow me to cycle through a bunch of interesting ideas quickly acutally but on the other side many people will be more comfortable with the stability that a long running campaign gives you.

I play in two campaigns now as I escaped the forever-DM status lmao. That said I love running one-shots as it lets me try out ideas as you said and I don’t have the time or the schedule to really prep and run a full campaign, kinda a similar thing to you @YTGC.
Which, speaking of, I did have a plan to write a one shot and run it sometime soon, maybe adding some Bleached themes wouldn’t be too bad, kinda like your idea Nordic, cause I liked those

I only played the pathfinder video game and im curious about something. Does the table top have the same ruleset for magic as the video game, because it seems quite a bit different than dnd. The fact that magic attacks are best on base attack bonus and strength/dex rather than int/wisdom/charisma like dnd.

I play Pathfinder and dnd with my friend group and warhammer with my collegue from work. The pathfinder game is a converted tomb of Annihilation where we are currently sailing down the river in order to get to the other side of the island to apprehend one of three pirate crews and their ship. As for the warhammer, I've got a big 3000 point game next sunday with my collegue which is my chaos marine armg guest starring my Knight Tyrant vs his grey knights guest starring Cainus Rex

I've never played the video game only the tabletop but it still follows the action system. Example my character is a cleric with various spells some that require me to roll to hit the enemy and some that require them to make a saving roll depending on what's required, I use the cantrip Divine Lance and I have to roll higher than then the enemies AC in order to have it work. I use the spell sudden blight and enemies with 20ft of the burst have to make a fortitude saving throw if they fail they take the full damage if they succeed they take half damage.

Its kinda similar to DnDs magic system but most spells cost two action points to use and you only get three actions in a turn compared to DnD which has movement, main action, extra attack action (if your class has extra attack) and bonus action. Meanwhile Pathfinders three action points let you do anything so you can use two action points to get way up close and then the last point to smack the enemy or if already up close to the enemy use all three actions to hit them three times with each strike getting more inaccurate with each strike.

Also like melee weapons, spell attacks have a base stat and then a bonus from your class' stat type to calculate the hit roll. Example my cleric has a +11 SA on his divine lance because he's trained (gets that due to his class) and then +4 from his wisdom which in total makes the +11 SA

Yea that's more of what i was asking. So if you use a spell that requires to roll higher than their AC, the bonus is from your wisdom? Cause in the game is uses strength or dex like weapon attacks which i found wierd for spellcasters.

Also in the game the spells that require them to ropl a save to the spell dc, the DC is based off the spell lvl not your class level like in DnD
