I was referring to how guys will most likely to be friends with other guys more than a girl unless the girl's a tomboy or FTM although it'll be 50/50 (some dudes will like it tolerate it, or not be a fan of it), I think it probably has something to do with how they can relate in terms of gender and possibly their biology since both genders' needs are very different, doesn't mean they can't be equal but their needs are different.
I mean yea, it's also just the fact that male friends a way easier to get and harder to offend than female ones for the average dude. From what i've seen, having/getting a female friend is essentially the same as maintaing a GF, with just none of the benefits of her actually being your GF.
